Cooking dinner

is not exactly my forte.
One of my rare attempts in cooking up a storm on a quiet Sunday evening… well, not quite but it’s close. They say practice makes perfect right? Here’s a display of my culinary adventure…
Menu of the day:
1) Claypot chicken rice (first time was burnt, pic below was a better result in my second try Open-mouthed smile)
2) Lotus roots with ribs soup
3) Stirred fried bean sprout with salted fish
4) Bavarian sausage from Jason’s Food Hall

and the verdict? well, nobody died :)

Christmas Pot Luck

Vonsie: The host will cook roast chicken + vegetables
Me: Ok Stephannie will try to cook this time too! 2 dishes!
Lorraine: no Lorraine will try not to poison her friends. She will bring dessert + wine
John Heng: John has no kitchen at home. He will bring satay

There you go, second week into December we had a lovely Christmas Pot Luck party at Vonsie and Alan’s cosy residence.

Remember this? This is my second attempt with Mushroom Risotto. Practice makes perfect :)

Greek Salad improvised by yours truly. It has feta cheese, pomelo bits, olives, rocket leaves, mixed salad leaves, raw onions with a tinge of balsamic vinegar + olive oil

It was a wonderful night catching up with my friends with great food and wine. Actually, after that night I had a new resolution for 2011: Find time to cook and bake more at home. :)

Mushroom Risotto

It’s been a while since I cook something proper. Tried cooking risotto for lunch today, my guinea pigs said it’s pretty yummy! :)

Pasta Night

So it was the preggar’s last night stay in KL and today, she’ll be moving back to Ipoh and wait for the baby delivery. I asked Jacq why don’t we throw her a baby shower and this the response I got.

“Joe’s cooking us the Charlie Trotter dish from AFC. What do you want me to prepare? A bathtub?”

Doh

So no baby shower for the preggar since it’s not a common thing in Malaysia anyway.

It was Pasta Night with her family. Simple, sinful and yummilicious!

fresh green salad

*yummy*

The pasta dish sneaked from Charlie Trotter. Made with prune tomatoes, smoked bacon and cheese.

*thick, flavorsome but too “bacon-ish* for my liking*
